Hallgrímskirkja
Standing on Skólavörðuholt and one of the city´s best known landmarks, Hallgrímskirkja is the largest church in Iceland towering 73 meters (244ft) in the air. Named after the Icelandic poet and clergyman Hallgrímur Pétursson (1614-1674). The church took 38 years to build, construction began in 1945 and ended in 1986.
Whale Watching
Departing from the old harbour in Reykjavík and only a short 10 minute walk from Island apartments, whale watching tours with Elding (hyperlinkur?) are a once in a lifetime experience. Whales are seen on 95% of all tours in summer and 80% in winter. A must do!
Harpa Concert House
Harpa is the cultural and social heart of the city and one of its landmarks. It´s grand-scale award-winning architecture has attracted 3 million guests since its opening in May 2011.
